Resetting Your Energy and Instilling Calm

Do you ever feel that everything is out of control in your life? You've forgotten to pay a bill, and the oil light comes on in your car, then you've just made the third trip to the grocery store only to get home and realize you've forgotten one thing! Doesn't just reading that create angst?!?!?

Sigh. Pause. Breathe. Some days, you may feel like you're holding on to the last moment of peace when one more thing jolts you—time for a meltdown. Sometimes you can see it coming; other times, items appear like a brick wall and take you off-center. You cannot always control what happens – it's part of life. As much as we all like endless days of calm with everything falling into place, life can have other ideas.

Last week my tech guru from our team set me up with a new email server. I can do many things, but technology is my Achilles heel. So, many deep breaths were happening when we went through the changeover. On day two, a few unresolved issues (these things can take some time to work through such a big transition). I felt myself escalate – the breathing wasn't kicking in because I was too far down the mental rabbit hole. I sensed what was happening and pushed away from my desk and went to prep dinner for later that night. When I came back, I had a different perspective.

My point: regardless of your actions, if the emotional walls are shaking…

STOP!

Step away.

Breathe. (Three DEEP breaths can help!)

Disrupting the energy can help clear the negative vibes that are happening. Powering through is not always a solution. It adds more negative fuel to the fire and can lead to heated conversations with someone you may be engaging in the process. It has nothing to do with them, and you're not angry with them (just the situation), yet the energy shaking can bring it on. The angst, the anger, and the doubt can ignite a sense of failure and overwhelm.

Whether this is an isolated incident or a period in your life, reconnect with the person within YOU. Disrupt the energy. Feel a sense of wholeness as you breathe life back into your body and embrace a waft of calm that asks to be let in. How it will be done, how it can be done, and how inevitably it will get done will find an open path within you.

Resetting your energy will do you a world of good.

Hugs,
